Gourry de Chadeville 1er Cru Grande Fine Champagne Cognac Cask Strength
Bottled at 64.3%abv - Single Cask - Unfiltered
From one of the oldest producing house of Cognac in existence, since 1619, Gourry de Chadeville Single Barrel Cask Strength Cognac will change one’s perception about a category that is often sleepy, uninteresting and marketing itself around everything except the quality of the product bottled. Brilliant, amber color with reflects of gold. Nose is yellow pear, maybe some white peach, hazelnuts, vanilla, bit of smoke, orange peel. Palate is full, unctuous, lots of power. More apple - fuji, honeycrisp - sweeter styles of apple. Vanilla, buttery crust, apple pie element thing going on here. With some water, nose seems sweeter, more candied orange peel and light caramel. Palate is consistent with previous notes, but the vanilla and cedar element of the wood come more to the fore. Finish is long, with a buttery caramel note and moderate tannin.
